Amos 8: God's Justice and Spiritual Famine
Curated by Sorrynomike
Well since I have officially kicked this page off and as oxymoronic as this post may be, I had to post my first KJV:Bible App post tonight because the verse of the day was spot on with current state of my life. Between working my full time job, trying to start a business on the side, reading, studying for my PMP, and spending some time with my wife. It really leaves little time for this passion project and anything else that needs to get done.
These last two sabbath’s, I found myself looking forward to sunset, so I could get back to work. I’m trying to learn video editing, and website building for my business. It’s just a lot to do. And until this point, Mathew 9:37 “The workers are plenty, but the harvest is few”, has been a real motivation to me but I believe this verse tonight was put in front of my face for a reason.
Amos 8
In Amos 8, we see a people who live their lives in deceit. Sure, they follow the law but look where that got the Pharisees!
I’ll take this as a sign and warning from God to enjoy all the blessings, he has graciously bestowed upon me. The worst thing I can imagine is being in famine of the Lord. Moving forward, I’m going to lean into and enjoy my sabbaths, my time with God, and talking to loved ones. I encourage you to all do the same. I believe if you set goals for yourself, it's important to work at them. but we all should spend a day to enjoy this gift, because that’s what it is... Life is a gift. It's your appreciation for that gift that God seeks from you. We all know how important it is to work, but do you know how important it is to rest? Not just for yourself but because God wants you to. If you’re a hard-working individual and this verse spoke to you, or you would like to see more content related for the daily verse, leave an Amen in the comment section.
Many Blessings,
